last weekend i was in west tn for my 10 YEAR high school reunion! i can’t believe it!! time has flown by and it doesn’t seem like it’s already been 10 years since graduation!! one great thing about the timing though, i got to be home at the perfect time to document my wonderful friend’s pregnancy! rachel, her husband travis (high school sweethearts), and i went to high school together and then rachel and i ended up living together in college. i was even in their wedding. i’m sure that you can only imagine that i am absolutely ecstatic that they are having a little mini travis!!!! i absolutely cannot wait to meet their sweet baby boy this december!! below are just a few of my favorites from the session and if you click on the link at the end, it will take you to the full gallery.

this family is just absolutely adorable and their little boy is so blessed to have such amazing parents. i just cannot wait to meet him!

i feel like i was meant to photograph this sweet family! a year ago, when hartley was just a few days old, rebecca contacted me and wanted to do a newborn session. i was pretty booked at the time, but my gut told me to find a way to make it work and i was able to fit them in that week. after rebecca saw the newborn images that we created, she decided that i was their girl and that we needed to do 6 and 12 month sessions too. they have been some of the best clients and i truly truly enjoy working with them. it is so unbelievably rewarding when a client values your work and shows you that appreciation. after the 6 month session, rebecca sent me the sweetest thank you card with a gift and it just lifted me up more than she will ever know. great clients make this job an absolute joy and i hope that they will call on me for the next big milestone in their lives.

when rebecca told me that she thought we should do the session at her parent’s home, i suggested that she see if the grandparents wanted to be a part of the session. she loved that idea! and we couldn’t leave out the craig’s parents! i’m so glad that everyone was able to come out for that early morning session. i hope that they treasure these images with their grandbaby.

rebecca made hartley’s little rag skirt to match the banner she made for the cake smash and her birthday party. so creative!

the cake smash didn’t last too long….she was NOT a fan of the absolutely adorable cake that rebecca made!

getting to witness my amazing friend bethany give birth to her son is something that i will cherish for the rest of my life. i honestly did not know what to expect prior to the big day. i had never seen an actual real life birth before. not even a youtube video or one of those terrible videos that you’re supposed to watch in high school. my only knowledge of a baby being born came from what i had watched on tv shows and movies and graham’s birth was nothing like that. i guess i had imagined it to be a lot more chaotic with a lot of people in the room and yelling (not sure who would be yelling), so it’s obvious that i really didn’t know what to expect.
when i got to the hospital, bethany was propped up in her bed just giddy with excitement. she could not WAIT to see her baby! she was just glowing and laughing and having a great time. we joked and shared stories to pass the time and it didn’t seem like any time at all and the nurses were telling her that it was time to start pushing.
below is graham’s birth

the nurse had just checked how far along the labor was and shared that is was time to start pushing!! we couldn’t believe how fast her labor had progressed. i have a theory that it was because bethany kept laughing at anything we said. we kept making the joke that she was going to laugh him out instead of push him out.

i think that’s the “am i ready for this face?!”

that expression on her face when she saw him for the first time is just so perfect! so much love and excitement over this new little human.

born at 4:19 PM, weighing in at 9 pounds 2.5 ounces, measuring 21 inches long

i just love it when clients choose me over and over again to photograph their family. i have been the photographer for this family since their oldest was 3 months old! i was just over-the-moon excited when they shared that their family would be expanding and i would get to play a part in that (see it here)
time has just flown by and now it’s lily’s 4 month session. we knew that we wanted to recreate this image from big sister’s 3 month session with lily since i still owned that same quilt and mom still had that same bow. she’s planning on doing a gallery wall and it’s going to look so cute when it’s done.
for this session, mom also wanted to do a little outdoor bubble bath fun and i just happened to have the most perfect galvanized tub! lily was just a little too small for it though so we didn’t get very many with her in the tub…but big sister absolutely LOVED it and completely stole the show … it was soooo cute! i’m definitely going to have to do the tub sessions again in the future!
i told her last night that every session i do with her babies is my new favorite session. i truly don’t know how we are going to top this one!
and these were taken at the same location as the pregnancy reveal session here and lucy’s 6 month session. i love getting these little sunflower sessions every year because i know that will look so great when showcasing past sessions with new sessions to create a gallery wall.

i’m pretty sure that we got that pouty face in the image above when mom was telling her that it was time to get out and go home. so pitiful

i’m already counting down to when we get to do lily’s next session. it’s just crazy how fast they grow and how much they’ve already changed since lily’s newborn session.

One of the best things about a photograph is that it can take you right back to a moment in time –– right back to the love and joy you felt when that image was taken. My goal is to freeze all those beautiful moments, whether it's welcoming a brand-new baby or capturing the love and connection of your family. During sessions, I am the ultimate tickle monster, giggle maker, and baby whisperer. My family sessions are play-based and fun, while my newborn sessions are gentle and relaxed, allowing for sweet, natural moments to unfold. No matter the occasion, I always strive to capture you authentically.
