If you're looking for a photographer that's going to create beautiful, stand-the-test-of-time images that look like you and feel like you, you're in the right place!

I began photographing my friends and their families as a creative outlet while working full time as a Civil Engineer. I quickly learned how much joy photography brought me. When a young child comes running up to me after their photography session and gives me the tightest hug while telling me how much fun they had...I just melt! During family sessions, I am the ultimate tickle monster and giggle maker.

On a couple's wedding day, I am not just the photographer. My goal is to be the person that makes their day as easy as possible. On most wedding days I'm an emergency hair and makeup fixer, boutonniere pinner, stain remover, family coordinator, and therapist.

Hi! I'm Jacquelyn Smith, Clarksville's luxury film-inspired Wedding & Portrait photographer.

We have an interesting beginning...

"Oh we used to hate each other!" usually comes out of my mouth at some point when I talk about how I met my husband Houston. We first met in college where we were both studying Civil Engineering. If you're a Harry Potter fan like me, you'll get this reference....I'm a Hermione Granger and he's more of a Fred & George Weasley. I have always been very studious and he was more of a do-what-I-need-to-do-to-pass collegiate student.

During our summer internship program together, we got to know each other a little bit more and I discovered that he was quite funny. We started dating that summer and we were married in 2011. I'm so grateful that God led me to him and that he blessed us with two amazing kiddos.

Jac is by far one of THE best photographers I've ever met. She's the sweetest, most genuine, and professional photographer you could find!

Playing with my kids

Whether we are outside running around the neighborhood or curled up on the couch watching Disney movies, playing and snuggling with Hazel & Joey is always going to be a happy place for me.

Building our Home

Last year, my husband and I built our dream home! We wanted to build a space that our kids will grow up in and give j. photography a beautiful studio!

My Simplified Planner

I have always been a paper planner type of person and I LOVE my Emily Ley Simplified Planner. It's amazing how much joy I can get from physically checking off my tasks for the day!

Pizza Fridays

Almost every single Friday, we have pizza for dinner. We will order from different pizza places around town to switch it up and maybe one day we will get ambitious and make it from scratch! Friday evenings at home are precious.

Fresh Roses from our yard

One thing I absolutely adore about my husband is that he takes a lot of pride in our yard and we have planted multiple rose bushes with other cut flowers for vases. It brings me so much joy to be able to walk out my back door and cut flowers for our home.

IF I HAD TO DESCRIBE THIS BUSINESS IN THREE WORDS, THEY WOULD BE JOYFUL, PURE AND TIMELESS.

how i got here

It was almost too much...

I officially started my business in 2011 while still working 45 hours a week as a Civil Engineer. A few months after having Hazel, it became too much to do it all. Houston and I decided it was best for our family if I stopped taking on photography clients. I had put my photography business ahead of my family and it wasn't working anymore.

Then my friend died...

Shea Halliburton Wright was an amazing photographer and I owe her so much. She befriended me and taught me so much about photography and she was truly an example to live by. When she passed away so suddenly, a few of us photographer friends needed to finish her weddings. It was during that season that my husband and I noticed how much happier I was. Through the help of an amazing counselor, we decided that I needed to do photography full time. The joy and life that photography gives me will always be one million times greater than the desk job I used to have and I thank God for giving me this path.
